Members of the Idaho District Export Council flew the new DEC banners at the “Made Here!” MFG Day Expo hosted by the Southwest Idaho Manufacturers’ Alliance on October 4 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. Pictured at right are Jennifer Verdon, Jenny Hemly, Rendi Bell, Amy Benson, and Alison Kelsey who seemed to enjoy their time staffing the Idaho Commerce/IDEC booth at the Expo. Over 700 students and hundreds of others met with nearly 70 exhibitors who showed what is made in Idaho and how it is made. One of the main purposes of MFG Day in Idaho and around the nation is to show the modern face of U.S. Manufacturing so young people can learn about the variety of career opportunities and jobs available in the manufacturing sector. Many of the products “Made Here!” in Idaho are sold around the world. Successful Idaho exporters such as Simplot, Micron, McCain Foods, Rekluse, and In the Ditch Towing Products showed their products and told their stories at the Expo.
